Are you ready to make a difference? There are exciting volunteer opportunities at the Danielle House that will positively impact you and the community. We rely on volunteers to fulfill our mission of offering a temporary, safe and homelike atmosphere for patients’ families and loved ones and for outpatients seeking respite during medical crisis, treatment phases of medical care or medical related services.
We are only able to do this through the support of our volunteers- this may include some light housekeeping, answer phones, cooking/baking at times and lending an ear to a guest who may be in need.
Signing up to volunteer is easy. some options include:
Volunteering is a great way to give back, make a difference and connect with others.
Danielle House, named in honor of Danielle Stento, is a charitable, non-profit organization and member of the Healthcare Hospitality Network.
The Danielle House was created in response to the need for hospitality and emotional support for family members visiting seriously ill patients in Binghamton-area hospitals.
Many of us have had a loved one who has been hospitalized away from home for an extended period of time. We can relate to the stress that this kind of experience introduces into our lives: sleepless nights, financial worries, anxiety over an eventual diagnosis, as well as the discomfort experienced with being in an unfamiliar city away from friends and family.
As a guest of Danielle House, you'll share our hospitality with other families in similar circumstances - people who can relate to you and your present needs and experiences.
Thank you to our charter sponsors, Crowley Foods, the NYSEG Foundation, Senator Thomas Libous Legislative Grant, the Ahearn Foundation, The Community Foundation for South Central New York, Johnson City Publishing, Nelson Ellis Furniture, Green Acres Lawn and Garden Center, and Roots Tree Service. Thank you also to all the others who shared the same passion to create The Danielle House, turning a tragedy into an opportunity and the reality of The Danielle House.
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unaware.
